Woo! The first Jam Session is in the books.
For the uninitiated, a Jam Session is this lovely, relaxed, unscripted, teach a little, talk a little call that boosts community + support + info-sharing around money.
It basically goes like this. You call in. I give us a little structure and get the juices flowing by teaching for a bit on a particularly sexy topic.
WTF is up with my credit score.
How can my student loan stop ruining my life.
Then, everyone on the call can ask me whatever the heck they want and I share as much wisdom / support / insight as possible. Everyone gets to listen to everyone else’s Qs and As so they (a) feel less alone (because honestly? we are all wondering the same things!) and (2) learn from each other!
I’ve been wanting to do these for.ev.er. I had the idea way (way!) back in 2014, and it took me two years to work up the nerve. I always admired coaches who did live “laser-coaching” and “hot seats” with complete strangers. The confidence! The skill and experience! I mean, you think it’s nerve-wracking and potentially embarrassing for you, the lovely coachee? Try being the one who is supposed to have all the answers!
I did not want this to be like the time I was riding my bike, all cool-like, with this exchange student I had a MAJOR crush on… and careened straight into a mailbox. I yelped (screamed!). I ripped my jeans. My ego still has not recovered. Holy crap. Speaking of bikes.
So it’s like, I had this idea, but I wasn’t ready… until I was. And then, boom, we made it happen. And it was awesome!
Our first topic? Credit scores and credit reports.
(Yeah. I know. I thought we’d kick it off with something light and fluffy.)

The next Jam Session will be on Thurs, Oct 13. Mark your calendars! Jam Sessions are awesome!
